My name is Stephen Jones, and I was born in Nottingham, which is located about 320KM (200 miles) north west of London, on the 20th of August, 1969. I then moved to Australia, where I settled in a regional city called Warrnambool, which is located in South Western Victoria. It was there where I attended primary (elementary) school. I moved to Sydney in 1982, and attended high school through to 1988. In 1989 I did a one year computer course.
I now live in Stockport (in the Greater Manchester area), UK.
Centenary Institute - The Centenary Institute is a world leader in cancer medicine and cell biology. The institute is affiliated with both the University of Sydney and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. I worked for them for a period of eight months, from January to August, 1996.
Microplex - This was an ISP with a presence Australia-wide. Microplex was bought out by Cable and Wireless Optus in 1998. The Microplex name slowly became phased out. I worked for Microplex/Optus Internet from October 1998 to August 2000.
Optus @Home - Optus @Home is a joint venture between Cable and Wireless Optus and Excite @Home Australia. I worked for them until mid October.
In June 2002, I started work with Virgin Mobile and stayed with them until January 2003.
Since March 2003, I've been working as a customer accounts manager for Barclaycard, which is a credit card issuer in the UK.
Hobbies.
Trainspotting - This is my oldest hobby, and I'm still doing it.
Model railways - I still hope to build one, one day.
Interests.
Railways
Aviation - I often used to visit Sydney Airport, and still do, sometimes. I've taken many photographs there, and hope to dedicate a page to it in the near future. Visit the Sydney Airport Enthusiast WWW Site.
Movies - I could go any time. However, it was always so expensive in Australia. In the UK, this hasn't a problem. I have an unlimited cinema subscription, which allows me to see as many films as I like for £9.99 a month.
